American Veterans Group’s sole purpose is to serve the underserved Veterans in the state. We pride ourselves on being the extended family for our Vets when their family members can’t be there. We’re a locally based, trusted provider of quality, compassionate in-home care, and we customize our home care solutions for the Veteran’s and his or her family’s unique needs, providing an affordable solution that keeps your loved ones where they’re happiest: at home.
We advocate on behalf of our Veterans, surviving spouses, and their families to apply for the Aid and Attendance pension benefit through the Department of Veterans Affairs. American Veterans Group provides high-quality home care services to assist Veterans in their qualification for the benefit and to ensure that they maintain the ability to remain at home for as long as possible.
We provide a comprehensive set of services provided by skilled, trained, professional and compassionate caregivers dedicated to meeting the Veteran’s needs. We work with the Veteran and his/her family to create a customized care solution for the best possible quality of life in their home.
When a Veteran needs help with basic activities of daily living (ADLs), personal in-home care from our professional caregivers provides the needed support that keeps the Veteran at home living enriched, engaged and independent lives.
Personal in-home care by a American Veterans Group professional provides that needed support, so the Veteran can remain safely at home. We can help with a range of needs, including:
- Transportation to and from appointments
- Getting in and out of bed
- Sitting and standing
- Navigating stairs
- Using the bathroom
Everyone enjoys a clean home – but for some of our Veterans, even simple housekeeping tasks can be overwhelming. An untidy home can contribute to feelings of depression, isolation, and hopelessness – it can even be dangerous, increasing the risk of injury or illness. And it may also be the first sign they are struggling and need extra help at home.
American Veterans Group household care services help create a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment. Services include:
- Laundry and changing bed linens
- Grocery shopping
- Meal preparation
- Kitchen cleaning and organization (including checking expiration dates)
- Cleaning and organizing bathrooms
- Vacuuming and sweeping
- Pet care and plant care assistance
- Replacing batteries in smoke detectors and other household safety features
- Replacing air filters
- Eliminating tripping hazards and safe-proofing the home
Since we tailor our in-home, non-medical, care services to the needs of the Veteran or their spouse, all of our services start by completing our pre-qualification form. This quick assessment gives us the information we need to help determine which VA services the Veteran may be eligible to receive. Once the assessment has been completed and returned to us via Fax, Email or mail, our skilled staff will review it and contact you within 24-48 hours to discuss the services the Veteran may qualify and any other assistance we may be able to provide.
